BC Construction Group places the health and safety of all our stakeholders, including our employees, clients, designers, and subcontractors, as our first priority every day. This approach has served us well for our ten years of operation and is serving us well in this time of uncertainty due to the current Coronavirus situation. To deal with the unique conditions imposed by this virus, BCCG has instituted additional processes and protocols to reduce the potential impact of this virus. As a traveling company, built such that our employees can work in any location, we are well equipped to continue to operate with increased virus precautions. We launched the following actions a few weeks ago, including:
- Working and communicating with subcontractors to mitigate their concerns and keep our project sites safe and healthy places to work.
- Expanding the use of our standard technologies, such as video conferencing, live site video, spot digital photography, live electronic document sharing, and conference calls to reduce social contact with all our stakeholders. Additional equipment was purchased a few weeks ago in anticipation of this need.
- Increasing the cleaning and sanitizing of our work areas and limiting the people using those areas to a single person in most cases.
- Holding some management and field employee resources in reserve in order to have the capacity to continue to provide on-site supervision and management for projects in the event a project team member becomes ill.
- Deploying all staff, except a small administrative team, to work from their homes or controlled job site environments to reduce, or in some cases nearly eliminate, social contact.
- Duplicating the same technology and tools available at our office at employees’ homes so that they can work effectively without disruption to their normal activities.
- Reducing travel to only critical Client or governmental meetings if required to support a project.
BCCG is monitoring the changing situation with this virus and will continue to work safely and diligently with all our partners to serve our Clients in the execution of their projects. BCCG will adjust and adapt our actions to the changing conditions as required.
