Southwest Charlotte STEM Academy has opened it’s doors for students! We are excited to complete this amazing facility for the Charlotte area. BCCG’s design solution is based on its cost efficient, state-of-the-art, two-story charter school prototypical model. The scope of the project includes 48 classrooms, a 3,344 SF administrative area, a 7,300 SF integrated gymnasium, a raised stage, locker rooms, storage, a warming kitchen, a sports field, and vehicle and bicycle parking.

The building shell is constructed with tilt-up, reinforced concrete wall panels, supported on conventional shallow spread footings, and a structural steel second floor and roof framing. Interior functional spaces are defined by framed drywall wall partitions. Walls are painted and lavatories feature ceramic tile wainscot. Floor finishes include exposed sealed concrete in the classrooms and corridors with carpet throughout the administrative office area. Finished photos will be up soon.
