Shining Rock Classical Academy was founded in 2015 to offer school of choice to the Waynesville, NC community. Having moved from the two buildings where it all started, to a temporary modular facility, the ever growing student population now demanded a permanent home. BCCG was selected to Design-Build a K-9 charter school on their new campus. The new building increases their student capacity and the site design accommodates expansion for future expansion.
Featuring an attractive façade, the two-story, concrete tilt-up structure is both a functional and cost-efficient facility design. There are 35 classrooms, including art, music, multi-media, language, Exceptional Student, and science rooms, as well as a gymnasium equipped with a high-school-sized basketball court, locker rooms, and bleachers with seating for 900 and a stage for performances and events.
